“They’re Coming”

In the Age of Indecipherable Geometry, the townsfolk of Oogrem-Vee lived beneath the shadow of the great Shape Tree, a being older than time and younger than patience. Every dusk, the sky would shuffle its symbols—clubs, spades, half-crescents, the occasional indecisive triangle—until a configuration emerged that whispered fate into the soil.

That night, the pattern snapped into place: ⎔⧍◓.

The oracle spat up three moths and announced, “They’re coming.”

No one asked who they were. Everyone knew. They were the forgotten alphabets, exiled years ago for being unspeakable. They had regrouped in the margins of the world, arms sharpened into ligatures, and now they marched—not to reclaim language, but to reassign meaning itself.

By midnight, the walls began to fold inward. Sounds detached from their sources. Thoughts turned brittle. The Shape Tree wept twelve-sided fruit.

In a final act of defiance, the town elders transcribed their last message by embedding it into fractured tessellations and interlocked omens. This painting is that message.

No, you won’t decode it.

You’ll only feel it—like a premonition in braille—reminding you softly but firmly…

They’re coming.
