They are <em>phonetic fractures<\/em>, the skeletal remains of a sentence that tried to describe itself and collapsed into symbol. The central orb\u2014half eclipsed, half exposed\u2014is not a celestial body. It is a pinhole of awareness, a lens through which one may glimpse the first moment of metaphor.
