A smear of cognition that hit something it could not name and bled backward through time.

What you see is not a landscape, nor a storm, nor an interior. It is a mental terrain, the scar tissue left behind when a mind tries to recall something it was never supposed to forget. The swirls and scratches are friction burns—evidence of thought colliding with truth too fast, too soon. That faint violet shimmer in the middle? That’s the residue of a nearly-formed word, still echoing.

The red is not blood. It is the color of realization when it aborts itself, a crimson throb of knowing-unbecoming. The surface texture was built layer by layer using sedimented doubt, finely ground apathy, and a binder of fevered breath. In some angles, you’ll see a shape trying to crawl out. It doesn’t have a name yet. Be glad for that.

The original title was “What Remains After the Voice Fails,” but the canvas rejected it. This painting chooses its own silences.

Do not place this piece in direct moonlight. Do not let it overhear secrets.
